Self-Employed Program:-

An applicant must prove that they have the relevant artistic or athletic experience that has allowed them to be self-employed while living in their country. The National Occupation Classification of Canada has a career types list that falls under these two categories.


  •    Cultural – Painter, Dancer, Journalist, Writer, Musician, and Designer
  •    Sporting/Athletic – Sports coach, Athlete, Referee, and Program leaders


Eligibility to immigrate as a Self-employed:

  •    Two years of experience is required in a related field
  •    Meet the criteria that include experience, education, age etc
  •    Prepared to be self-employed in Canada.


Start-up Visa:

The Start-Up Visa Program is a new Canadian immigration project. Successful applicants who can provide funding as well as guidance, expertise on establishing and operating a business in Canada. Under this immigration program, they will be granted their Canadian permanent residency.
Start-Up Visa Program not available for those who are interested in establishing a business in Quebec.



Eligibility Requirements:

  •    Letter of Support and Commitment Certificate – Applicants must have a support letter from a designated investor organization. The investor organization will also have to provide a Commitment Certificate.
  •    Language Requirement- Applicants must provide language test results from an approved agency as good communication and work in English and/or French is required
  •    Investment Requirement-Applicants must secure an investment from a designated venture capital fund.
  •    Education Requirement – The applicant must have completed one year of study at a post-secondary institution and needs to provide transcripts, certificates, and degrees as proof.
  •    Sufficient Settlement Funds – If a candidate is thinking to immigrate to Canada then he/she must have sufficient settlement funds to support themselves and their family.


Business Visitor Visa:

This is the best way for business individuals that allow short-term stays for business activities such as industry conferences, training, etc. but does not directly enter the Canadian labour market. A business visitor visa is different from a Canadian work permit. Business visitors must prove that their main workplace or business place is outside Canada.
How to Apply for a Business Visitor Visa
The best thing about the business visitor visa is that business visitors are not required a special visa, they just need to follow a normal procedure to apply for a business visitor visa. Business visitors are required to show the proof of their activities to the border services officer at their port of entry.



PNP Entrepreneur Visa Streams:

PNP Entrepreneur Visa is a stream that allows immigrants to be a part of Canada’s growing economy. The applicant must be willing and be able to establish, invest in or acquire a business in Canada to qualify for these programs as an entrepreneur. The requirements for this program vary depending on the province and a PNP allows a province to nominate an applicant for immigration to Canada.
